This independent community guide may display non-intrusive advertising (for example Google AdSense) to help cover hosting, maintenance and ongoing verification of planning links. Editorial content comes first. Advertising is not an endorsement of any product, service, developer or government body.

What this site is (and is not)

southernthornlands.com.au is a place-first information resource about the Southern Thornlands locality and its Priority Development Area context. It is not a real-estate portal, investment newsletter, developer brochure site, or official EDQ/Council channel.

What we will not do

Real-estate sales funnels, project “register interest” widgets, or developer marketing as editorial
Affiliate hard-sells for property, finance, “unlock potential”, or speculative investment products
Ads or content that impersonate official EDQ or Council notices
Pop-ups, sticky sales bars, or auto-playing media that undermine trust and readability
Above-the-fold ad clutter that pushes primary content below the fold on mobile

What we may do

Display standard display advertising via networks such as Google AdSense on suitable content pages (for example after key sections, mid-article, or footer-adjacent)
Prefer lighter or no ads on pure legal pages (this page, privacy, terms, disclaimer) and keep contact uncluttered
Link to official free public services (EDQ, Council, Translink, BOM) without monetising those as affiliate products

Labelling and control

When ad units are live, they should be visually distinguishable from editorial content. Individual creatives are selected by the ad network within their policies; we do not write those ads. You can often limit personalised advertising via browser settings and Google’s ad settings. See our privacy policy.
